We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Regional Counsel in College Point, NY.  As Senior Regional Counsel you will report to the EVP, General Counsel and will supervise associate counsel

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial, construction and real estate contracts.
  • Develop strategies for resolving disputes and claims and supervise outside counsel on litigation.
  • Represent OHLA in mediations and arbitrations.
  • Draft corporate documents, joint venture, and partnership agreements.
  • Advise senior-level executives on legal, operational, compliance and regulatory risk and corporate governance matters.
  • Develop deep relationships with our construction project teams and key business partners.
  • Develop and implement strategies across the organization to improve our legal processes and reduce risk.
  • Tour our projects throughout the region.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: A Juris Doctor degree (NY tri-state area law school preferred)
  • NY or CA Bar
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in commercial litigation and some contract drafting experience.
  • Some experience working with government contracts or public-sector procurement.
  • Substantive prior experience directly advising clients on complex matters.
  • Solid experience in balancing business needs and risk

Skills:

  • Fluency in Lexis, MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint and proficiency in MS Excel (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Analytical skills and ability to develop reasoning independently.
  • Brilliant writing skills - ability to craft compelling and persuasive narratives and draft favorable agreements without legalese.
  • A high EQ and IQ
  • Meticulous attention to detail

  • To spend up to 10% of time in our Chicago, IL office

Minimum Salary

USD $200,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary

USD $225,000.00/Yr.
